Museum Matinee!
Starting on June 27th, the Comer Museum will be showing films throughout the history of cinema! On the last Saturday of each month, from 2pm to 3:30pm, stop by and enjoy a variety of cinematic masterpieces that once graced our local, beloved theatres.

Enjoy fresh popcorn from our new vintage kettle popper, refreshing sodas, and stimulating discussions with fellow cinephiles.

The Comer Museum will be hosting its Public Archaeology Forum on the first Thursday of every month from 3 pm - 7 pm. These events are open to the general public. Click HERE for a list of expected meeting dates.
Anyone interested in local history, prehistory, and archaeology is encouraged to attend! Come speak with our resident archaeologist and discuss local history, bring artifacts for identification, do your part as a citizen scientist to contribute to the archaeological record!

Paranormal Investigation Results

Jim Nabors 96th Birthday Celebration​

Well Sur-prise, sur-prise, sur-prise! It's Jim Nabors' "aka--- Gomer Pyle's" 96th Birthday. We will celebrate at the Comer Museum June 12th and 13th with videos and music. On June 13th at 12 noon we will be serving Jim Nabors favorite desserts, straight from his mother's own recipes!

Upcoming Event!!
​250th National Anniversary Celebration​
​
Come celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary at the Comer Museum! The museum staff will be in period garb for a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. All are encouraged to attend in historical garb as well (1776, 1876, 1976, and 2026 are all acceptable eras of dress). Come celebrate the Semiquincentennial this 4th of July with us!

On Saturday the 4th of July, the museum will be providing free hot dogs, chips, and drinks courtesy of local sponsors - Lion's Club, Imerys, Radney-Smith, and the Sylacauga Historical Commission. Be sure to join us for free food and patriotic revelry. See you on the fourth!!
